The Equal Opportunity Party is invested in ensuring that we provide the best future for all. We are focused on achieving this through working towards ending gender, racial and wealth inequality. The Equal Opportunity Party is also engaged in working to improve the sustainability of Australia. For a fairer, more sustainable, and just future
The equal opportunity party will implement a policy that assures that all employees are paid equally for doing the same job, with gender not being a factor in pay gaps. An Equal Work Committee will be established by the Equal Opportunity Party to guarantee that this is monitored to the best of our abilities.
The Equal Work Committee will work in unison with the already-established Workplace Gender Equality Agency, which will be available for anyone who are suffering gender discrimination to file complaints, which will be investigated and followed up on.
Our policy allows for more improvements to the gender wage gap in Australian workplaces, bringing the 14.2% wage gap up considerably. Businesses that violate this guideline may be fined by the Equal Work Committee to unsure a fairer workplace.
Action Against Poverty – The Equal Opportunity party will alter the income tax system. About 9.2% of the world, or 689 million people, live in extreme poverty on less than $1.90 a day, according to the World Bank. To help people who are living in poverty but also are employed, we will lower the income tax brackets which means they will be taxed less, and the higher income brackets will be taxed more to compensate.
Any gains for the government will go directly towards providing food, shelter, and childcare to those living in poverty. We believe this will benefit people who have different income level. This allows a fairer, more suitable future.
We will have sure there is at least one clothing collection hub every 1,500 inhabitants and will be banning retailers from discarding unsold clothes. Clothes will be collected and resold in charitiTo approach the issue of textile waste, the Equal Opportunity Party will introduce a minimum of one clothing collection hub for every 1,500 inhabitants, and retailers will be banned from discarding unsold clothes. These clothes will be collected and sorted based on their condition to be resold in charities, internationally distributed, or recycled.
Our policy will help reduce Australia’s 23 kilograms of clothing disposed in landfill each year (93% of the 27 kilograms we generate annually), due to being the world’s second highest textile consumer. This policy will help turn Australia’s lowest recycled material, textile at only 7%, up. A similar policy has been proven previously successful in France, where their annual textile and clothing collection has increased by over 200% and continues to grow. The Equal Opportunity Party will take on the world’s third largest polluter to ensure that Australia reduces its textile waste.es. They can also be internationally distributed or recycled.
The Equal Opportunity Party works to create an equal and free environment for everyone, and through implementing our policies against workplace discrimination and the beginning of legal education regarding equality, we will get closer and closer to out goal of an equal and free world. Our policies will ensure that race will not impact the treatment of workers in jobs, such as sustaining equal pay/income, and creating a safe space where race will not influence situations like certain benefits or compensations being taken away from people.
As well as this, not hiring a certain person for a job because of their race will not be accepted and denying leave and retirement options will be managed. Our policy also states that schools/education systems must deliver essential education to students regarding cultural backgrounds and equality through race; encouraging a hopeful better future and changed world. The policies implemented will significantly contribute to a more just future.
